Knotty Boy LockSteady is designed to be an alternative to concentrated salt-based Lock Accelerator Sprays. Although we acknowledge the use of Sea Salt as one way to tighten locks, homemade solutions should be very diluted and used carefully. Sadly, other commercial Lock Accelerating products are notorious for badly damaging locks, causing excessive dandruff, breakage and serious salt burns to already-sensitive scalps, often leading to the loss of locks completely. (This is true, we have the emails!) Knotty Boy Locksteady Dreadlock Tropical Tightening Gel effectively accelerates the natural locking process by employing the restorative and strong-binding properties of pure Aloe Vera, which has been used traditionally by Rastafarians to groom and strengthen their locks for decades. A lighter formula than Knotty Boy Dread Wax, this Gel is designed for use on both new and mature locks to accelerate the natural growth process, tighten hair and minimize lock frizzies!

Directions: After washing and thoroughly towel-drying locks, palm-roll small amounts of Gel into damp locks. A pea-size amount of Gel in the palm of your hand is enough for 1 -2 locks. Avoid scalp to prevent Aloe flakes and over-drying. Allow locks to air dry, or use a hairdryer on ‘Low’ to dry locks completely. Use Gel after each wash, up to 2 times per week.

New Tip! For quick lock tightening on the go, try adding 1 part Gel to 3 parts water in a spray-bottle, shake well and spritz!
